Likewise, the well-established connection between sun exposure and skin cancer has made us aware of the value of wearing sunscreen.<\/p>\n<p>But did you know that three additional lifestyle choices may significantly lower your risk of developing cancer? A recent American Association for Cancer Research report suggests that <a href=\"https:\/\/issels.com\/blog\/2013\/09\/18\/new-report-50-cancer-deaths-are-preventable\/\">half of all cancer deaths could be prevented<\/a> by making smart lifestyle choices that promote a healthy immune system.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The \u201cMagic 3\u201d Lifestyle Choices<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Three specific lifestyle choices have been shown to reduce not only general cancer risk, but also the risk of certain types of cancer, including <a href=\"http:\/\/www.issels.com\/Cases.aspx#Breast\">breast cancer<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.issels.com\/Cases.aspx#Colon\">colorectal cancer<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.issels.com\/Cases.aspx#Uterine\">uterine cancer<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.issels.com\/Cases.aspx#Kidney\">kidney cancer<\/a>. To reduce your cancer risk, the American Cancer Society has issued the following <a href=\"https:\/\/issels.com\/blog\/2014\/03\/05\/three-lifestyle-strategies-can-decrease-cancer-risk\/\">lifestyle guidelines<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Weight.<\/strong> Maintain a healthy weight.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Diet.<\/strong> Eat a diet rich in fruits, vegetables and whole grains.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.
