Diagnosis: Cerebellar Tumor.
Histology: Cerebellar Astrocytoma, Univ. Freiburg i.Br./ Germany.
Treatment: Resection of the tumor with post-operative radiation therapy.
October 1955
Local Recurrence: Cerebellar tumor originating from the wall of a cyst in the posterior cranial fossa and extending to the pons and the occipital foramen.
Histology: Only partial resection possible. Patient refuses radiation.
No Standard Treatment.
January to May 1956
Issels Treatment: 16 weeks of immunobiological in-patient treatment and 6 months of out-patient follow-up treatment.
Admission exam: Condition after partial resection of a cerebellar tumor with neurological symptoms.
Discharge exam: Condition stable.
January to February 1957
Issels Treatment: 4 weeks of in-patient and 6 months of out-patient treatment.
Control exam: Beginning Remission.
June 1958
Issels Treatment: 2 weeks in-patient and 6 months out-patient treatment
Complete remission of all symptoms.
13 years cancer free without any recurrence, patient fully fit for work.
24 years cancer free, Mrs. S. leading a normal healthy life.
