Diagnosis: Carcinoma of the Cervix Stage II.
Histology: Invasive squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix.
Three different pathological institutes.
Treatment: Wertheim’s surgery, total extirpation of uterus and ovaries.
January 1955
First recurrence.
Treatment: Radiation therapy, remission.
August 1956
Second recurrence: with infiltrative growth into the bladder and obstruction of the right ureter diagnosed by Dr. Foerster, Salzburg and Prof. Schoenbauer of the First University Clinic in Vienna, Austria.
No further standard treatment possible. Patient considered incurable.
September to December 1956
Issels Treatment: 12 weeks in-patient treatment at the Issels Hospital with 6 months out-patient follow-up treatment.
Novemer 1956
Control examination by Prof. Ries, Univers.
Clinic Munich: The infiltrate which was situated on the right wall of the bladder in the region of the ureter and in the paravaginal tissue and which the last examination showed as being connected with the infiltrate of the pelvic wall has completely disappeared.
September 1957
Complete Remission diagnosed by independent gynecologists and Dr. Foerster, Salzburg.
14 years cancer free without any recurrence, patient leading a normal cancer free life, fully fit for work.
