Immunemodulatory benefits of glandular therapy for cancer treatment.

Cancer Treatment Summary

Glandular Therapy for Cancer and Immune Boosting Treatment

The term glandular therapy as it pertains to cancer treatment refers to dried and ground-up raw animal glandular and non-glandular tissues or extracts of these tissues used in a course of therapy. These extracts do not only contain the hormones of these organs but also other substances, some of which have not yet been isolated.

Therapy with medications made from organs and glands help to fight cancer. The tissues include mainly those from the following glands and organs: adrenal, thyroid, thymus, pituitary, liver, pancreas, spleen, kidney, lung, heart, brain, uterus and prostate. Most of the glandular substances we use are derived from bovine (cow) sources and sheep.

Clinical research suggests that glandulars improve the function of the gland or organ from which the extract was taken. The objective in glandular therapy is to stimulate and restore the activity of aged or diseased cells by supplying natural cell stimulators found in the tissues of the corresponding organ of an animal.

Even trace amounts of these special cell stimulators have been shown to be sufficient to achieve desired results. Therefore, it is irrelevant if some of the cell stimulators are destroyed by stomach acid. Most of the glandulars used in therapy are enteric coated.

Glandular therapy dates back thousands of years, having been used by the ancient Hindus, Egyptians and Greeks. It is still actively used as a treatment in Europe.

Glandulars and other tissue extracts have been administered at one time in traditional medicine, for example the extract of bone marrow was used for the treatment of iron-deficiency anemia. Dessicated thyroid is still given by many physicians in the management of hypothyroidism. Adrenal extract has been found to have some cortisol which has anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic activities.

In the past two decades several research centers have been studying the effects of thymus peptides on the immune system. Clinical experience has shown that thymus extracts have immunemodulatory activity. For several decades, in Europe, thymus extracts have been a valuable addition to immunobiological cancer treatment.

The comprehensive Issels Treatment strategy integrates glandular therapy dependent on each individual patient's condition.
